Statistical Analysis in MiroSot

چکیده
The world of robot soccer is a subjective one due to the di cult nature of collecting data. In this paper we present a number of non-parametric statistical tests that can be used to analyze the performance of strategies without the need for a large sample size. We present results that show a \case-based" strategy performs signi cantly better (statistically) than a \potential eld" strategy in simulation based on a sample of only ten games.

This paper brieey deals with the Evolutionary Multi-Agent Robotic System and disccusses the robot soccer platform as its test bed. Though simulator based robot soccer systems and maze contests were in exsitence for a long time, the Micro-Robot World Cup Soccer Tournament (MiroSot) initiated in Korea is one of its rst kinds. The rst and second MiroSot competitions were held in Korea Advanced Ins...
متن کاملThe Technology and Challenges of Mirosot Robot Football
Robot football combines microrobotics, artificial intelligence, multi agent real time control and dynamic vision sensing in a unique way. This paper discusses developments in each of these technologies resulting from over five years work by the University of Plymouth Mirosot robot football group. Problems encountered along the way are highlighted and various solutions presented. The limitations...
متن کاملAutomatic Color Detection for MiroSOT Using Quantum-Inspired Evolutionary Algorithm
In a MiroSOT robot soccer program, operators manually adjust color setting using global vision system for detecting objects such as robots and a ball. It is a cumbersome and time-consuming operation before the game. Since spectators may make shadows and illumination changes on the pitch, it becomes more difficult to detect colors of the objects. For the convenience of operators, automatic color...

The robots used in MiroSot (Micro-Robot World Cup Soccer Tournament) are small in size (7.5cm 7.5cm 7.5cm), fully/semi autonomous and without any human operators. MiroSot involves multiple robots that need to collaborate in an adversarial environment to achieve speciic objectives. They have dynamic environments as other robots intentionally aaect the environment in unpredictable ways. The key a...
